Study the Effect Factor on the Burning Rate of Propellant Used in Cable Bridge Plug System
The effect on the burning rate of NLG heat-resistant propellant used in cable bridge plug system was studied by the closed-vessel experiments and normal pressure incendiary experiments. The results showed that the burning rate of the propellant rises with both increase of content and decrease of particle size of the oxidizer. And the propellant with higher softening point asphalt burns faster than that with lower softening point. Temperature does not affect the combustion of propellant under a relatively lower pressure(less than 28.0Mpa). Under a higher pressure (higher than 28.0Mpa), the gas-generating rate of the propellant at higher temperature is higher than the lower one. Therefore, the burning rate of the propellant could be adjusted by changing the oxidizer particles size, oxidizer content and the asphalts softening point.
