Research for Characteristics of Methane/Air Combustion and Explosion
This paper aims to study the characteristics of methane combustion and explosion by the piping exploder simulating the coal mines tunnel. Experiments shown that when the proportion of methane (ratio to air by volume) is 9.5% and the slenderness ratio (L/D) of the piping is 133, the deflagration would be translated into the detonation, the excessive pressure of detonation can reach to 1.75MPa, and the mean wave velocity reach to 1980m/s; when the slenderness ratio (L/D) of the piping is 166, there are short overdrive detonation appreared and then to be weaken the stable detonation. The maximal excessive pressure of overdrive detonation can reach to 2.5MPa, and the wave velocity reach to 2240m/s.
