Numerical Simulation of Combustor of Inert Gas Generator by Fuel Burning
It was well known, inert gas was a kind of efficient, environmental and economically beneficial media in suppressing explosions and fire prevention. But the R&D of inert gas safety protection technology had been limited for the lack of enough inert-gas resource. The way generating inert gas by fuel burning was simple, advanced and economic. Based on inert gas safety protection technology, a new-type combustor of inert gas generator by fuel burning was design. A three-dimension (3D) numerical simulation based on gas-droplet two-phase turbulent model and non-premixed combustion model in the new-type combustor generating inert gas by fuel burning was presented.The simulation results were compared with the experimental data. The flow and combustion characteristics were studied. Useful information had been provided for optimizing the geometry structure and process parameter of the combustor.
