Simplified Approach for Determining Detonation Parametersof Industrial Explosives
Based on hydrodynamic theory and revised Abel equation of state as well as Brinkley Welson rule, a simplified procedure is introduced by which the detonation parameters of industrial explosives are calculated. According to the introduced method, the detonation parameters of C0HjNcOrfexplosives can be calculated from a, b, c, d and gas phase heat of formation of explosives at any loading density without solving the thermo chemical equilibrium equations. The results can be indicated as follows: (1) The detonation velocities obtained by the introduced method is close to the detonation velocities obtained from the experimental measurements. The relative errors are within 5%. (2) The detonation parameters obtained by the introduced method are consistent well with the detonation parameters obtained from the calculation by use of JCZ3 and Virial equation of state. Thus, simplified methods in this paper are fairly precise.
