The RCC Double-curvature Arch Dam of Linhekou Hydropower Project
Linhekou hydropower project is located in Shaanxi province of China. Its RCC double curvature arch dam is maximally 96. 5m high and its dams RCC concrete volume is about 224, 600m3, accounting for 74％ of the total dams concrete volume. The construction of the Linhekou hydropower project commenced in May, 2000, and the project started to store water on October 27, 2003. The dam has been operated normally for 4 years. Linhekou RCC concrete arch dam reflects the latest innovative technologies in China regarding the dam structure design, RCC concrete mix design, construction method, and quality control approach. This paper reports the key issues on the arch dams design, construction and operation, which provides experiences that have the potential to be applied in other similar projects.
