Comparative Analysis of the Results of the Laboratory/Field Shear Strength Tests of Longtan RCC
Comparative analyses on the test results of the indoor shearing strength, in-situ shearing strength at the site and the core samples have been carried out. The test results of the lab and the field shearing tests show that as the time of the interval between layers extends, the shear strength in three classes of RCC declines, and the shear strength goes down to the minimum especially when the cold joint occurs. Through statistical analysis with statistical method (with 80% guarantee rate) and the minimum average method, the f and c values of the shear strength tests of RCC in-situ at field in three strength classes are all conformed with the design specifications; the f and c values obtained from the minimum average method are somewhat lower than those from the statistical method; the shear strength calculated based on the f、 c values obtained by using the minimum average method and the statistical method respectively show less difference, with the slightly lower result by the minimum average method. By ruing out the influences from the effect of size and age, the shear strength of the core samples in two strength classes are greater than the design shear strength.
