A General Face of Study on Key Techniques for the Design of Longtan High RCC Dam
The Longtan Hydropower Project is the largest ongoing RCC dam in the world as so far in terms of the dam height and working quantities. In view of the huge project size, high requirement on dam structure and complexity of construction techniques, during preliminary design stage and before project implementation, a series of in-depth and systematic studies have been done with the difficult issues covering structural design of high RCC gravity dam, design methodologies, faster placement in a hot and rainy environment, which are favorable to ensuring the dam safety, project construction progress and its quality. The main study achievements have been applied to the project construction, and this paper briefs the essential contents.
