Limestone Powder-A New Type of Supplementary Mineral Fines for Roller Compacted Concrete
After 20 years practice in RCC dam, the rich cementitious material content and high dosage of fly ash has become the characteristic of Chinese RCC dam technology. However, in the area lacking of fly ash, the transportation from a long distance would be not economical. Limestone powder can be used as supplementary mineral fines to replace fly ash. This paper summarizes the experimental studies on the granular features of limestone powder, its role in RCC and the properties of RCC containing limestone powder replacing fly ash partially or entirely.
