Tests on Air Content Increase of Roller Compacted Concrete
Concrete durability can be increased through incorporation of air-entraining agent. Due to dry mixture and large amount of fly ash used in RCC, it is quite difficult to induce a certain amount of bubbles into concrete. Therefore, aiming at the difficulty of air entraining in Longtan Project, research on factors affecting air content in RCC has been conducted: varieties of fly ash and air entraining agent on air content in RCC, the mixing time, vibration time in test of air content, the adding sequence of material and the rock powder content etc; technical measures for increasing air content in RCC for Longtan Project have also been proposed on the base of these testing.
