Study on Factors Affecting RCC (Roller Compacted Concrete) Anti-crack Performance

Currently, RCC dams development is heading from low dam to high dam, from gravity dam to arch dam even to high arch dam, which proposes a higher standard for RCC anti-crack performance. A lot of factors have been identified which affect RCC anti-crack performance, the paper studies on improving RCC anti- crack performance in terms of experiments on cement mineral composition, stone dust content, admixture (MgO), aggregate characteristic (elastic modulus) and sand percentage. The result shows an optimal volume of sand percentage and stone dust content exist in the light of RCC anti-crack performance;in addition, proportional MgO admixture and appropriately increasing C2S and C4AF in cement clinker can improve RCC anti-crack performance as well;besides, aggregates elastic modulus is a vital impact on RCCs, and the utilization of aggregate of low elastic modulus can dramatically decrease concrete elastic modulus, increase tension train capacity and enhance concrete anti-crack performance.
