Study on Material Property of RCC Arch Dam in China
Material property of China RCC arch dam is studied on raw material, mix and technical performances. Considering that tall RCC arch dam requires high crack resistance, RCC of high anti-crack performance is also studied by using the same raw materials of Shapai RCC arch dam, adjusting water-binder ratio and amount of cementitious material and blending silica fume and magnesia. Results indicated that RCC used in China arch dam has the property of low cement content, high fly ash dosage, moderate amount of cementitious material, low adiabatic temperature rise and good crack resistance. Compared to the performance of Shapai RCC arch dam, the strength of high anti-crack RCC improved, elastic modulus- strength ratio decreased, elastic modulus dropped 5% and ultimate tension increased 27%, and the RCC demonstrates excellent crack resistance.
