Simulation Analysis on Thermal Stress of Longtan RCC Gravity Dam
This paper presents the 3D-FEM simulation results of the temperature fields and stress fields of the Longtan RCC dam during its placement and operation based on the actual construction parameters, and compares the simulation analysis results with the observation data from the prototype dam. The computation indicates that: the results derived from the computation are basically identical with the observed data;the temperature and stress at almost all locations of the Longtan dam can meet the design requirements. Although the temperature and stress at local places would exceed the design criteria under the action of a cold wave, they can still satisfy the operation requirements.
