A Case Study of Deformation Measurments in Rudbar Lorestan RCC Dam (Iran)
One of the most important parameters in analyzing the mechanical behavior of rock mass and to assess the stability of the structures built and founded on rock is the deformation modulus. A site investigation program was carried out near the city of Aligoudarz in Lorestan province in the south- west of Iran. The investigations are aimed to provide geotechnical parameters in order to analyze the suitability of this location and also to obtain required design parameters for the construction of a RCC dam on Rudbar River. As part of the site investigation program, several plate load and dilatometer tests were carried out in exploratory galleries and foundation of dam. This paper discusses and compares the results of these two testing methods.
