Construction of Roller Compacted Concrete Dam in Suofengying Hydropower Station
Suofengying Hydropower Station is one of the large hydro-power stations in Wujiang drainage area. The dam is whole-section roller compacted concrete dam. The method of continuously casting and whole dam going-up is used, depending on the roller compacted concrete to achieve self anti-seepage of the dam. In summer the air-cooled aggregate is used in mixing concrete, and the temperature of concrete of out- mixer and into-barn are controlled by adding cool water. Inside the placing barn, the PVC pipes are embeded to pass cold water to reduce the concretes inner temperature. In some strong restriction areas the proper quantity of MgO is added into concrete, utilizing the MgOs tiny dilatability to compensate the concretes shrinkage due to the temperature reducing, and lowering the concretes tension stress due to its shrinkage, this is the main characteristic of the dam construction. This paper mainly introduces the constructions characteristic of the roller compacted concrete dam in Suofengying Hydropower Station. In this project the national construction technic results of the roller compacted concrete are adpoted, and the technic of roller compacted concrete dam has further been perfected and developed.
