CONDITION ASSESSMENT OF SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAM BRIDGE BASED ON RELIABILITY THEORY
Based on reliability theory, the probability model based resistance, function effect and related statistical index of simply supported RC beam bridges was provided, which established a theoretical foundation for their reliability evaluation. Meanwhile, combining with the actual circumstance for beam bridges, a uniform function and ultimate equation for a certain disabled model was established, which developed a condition for calculating reliability. Using the standard of reliability calculation for a bridge, the reliability index for the system of existing simply supported RC beam bridges was studied, and a method to calculate reliability of a more complicated system was proposed. Based on the reliability model and statistical parameters of an existing simply supported RC beam bridge discussed above, to what degree of correlative resistance of bridge structure which need to be strengthened is calculated. The results have offered suggestions for the bridges strengthening.
