RELIABILITY ASSESSMENT OF NO.1 STEEL PEDESTRAIN BRIDGE OF WUHAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
Base on the preliminary survey on site, for most of the steel pedestrian bridges, there are local rust erosion on the surface of steel members. It is essential to take reliability assessment to the steel pedestrian bridges. There is almost no research work for the reliability of the pedestrian bridge. In this paper, the 5 years old No.1 steel pedestrian bridge of Wuhan University of Technology is taken as the research object. The dynamic properties were measured, and the geometric dimensions, rusting condition and decorating situation were surveyed. The stress, deflection and dynamic properties of the structure were analyzed using Finite Element Method. Base on the measurement analysis results, the safety and normal usage of the No.1 pedestrian bridge were assessed using the rating method. The assessment results can provide the maintenance and repairing basement the steel pedestrian bridges in the future.
