THE SIMULATION OF NON-STATIONARY GROUND MOTIONS BASED ON WAVELET TRANSFORM
This paper proposes a method for simulation of ground motions. L-P wavelet transform is adopted to estimate the evolutionary spectrum, the compute speed is fast and the precision of reconstruction is high because FFT and IFFT technology is used. The generated ground motions are non-stationary both in amplitude and frequency. Example shows that the Fourier spectrum accords with the target spectrum. The method can be used to generate a great number of samples having the identical statistical features for some important records.
