THE INFLUENCE OF SITE CONDITIONS ON DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ISOLATION BRIDGES

In this paper, considering different site conditions, earthquake motion and shear wave velocity, the changing trends of decreasing amplitude ratio are studied through time history analysis by finite element method. It is present the application range of seismic isolation bridges adopted lead rubber bearing. Finally, it is concluded that performance of isolation bridges with lead rubber bearing is excellent under the first and second site conditions; the performance becomes worse under the third and forth site conditions and the ability of seismic isolation can not be obtained when the shear wave velocity is dropped below 140m/s. Then other ways of decreasing seismic response of bridges should be taken.
