PRECISE STRESS ANALYSIS OF BRIDGE PAVEMENT IN A LONG SPAN SUSPENSION BRIDGE
Though the loads induced by vehicles on the pavement can not cause the internal stresses of the material over the strength limit generally, these loads are dynamic loads which have strong effect on the fatigue behaviour of the pavement materials. Two kinds of stress analysis models were used to study the correlative error of the stresses in the pavement. In one model, the global bending and cable tensile loads were neglected and substituted by a displacement constraint on the bottom of the girder. Another model is to setup a global model for the whole suspension bridge, after the global analysis, a local model was setup, in which the boundary condition of the local model are applied by the internal forced of the bridge on the cross section (the boundaries at local model) calculated in global model. The analysis results show that the analysis error may have some effect on prediction of the fatigue live of the pavement.
