COMFORTABILITY EVALUATION OF GUANGBUTUN STEEL PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
Guangbutun pedestrian bridge, located in Hong Shan district, Wuhan City, was built 6 years ago. It is an H-shape north-south oriented steel bridge. Its host bridge consists of three continuous span steel box beams. In this paper, the frequencies were measured using the pulsation method for the Guangbutun pedestrian bridge vibrating in the vertical plane. The finite element model of the steel pedestrian bridge was built and the free vibration frequencies and modes were analyzed based on ABAQUS software. The finite element analysis results were consistent with the measurement data, showing the model building method is rational. Based on the measurement and analysis of the dynamic properties, the comfortability is evaluated for the Guangputun steel pedestrian bridge. The evaluation results can be provided as a basis for the bridges future use and maintenance as well as a design reference for the same kind of structure.
