APPLICATION OF WAVELET ANALYSIS TO CRACK IDENTIFICATION IN BEAM STRUCTURES
Research of structure damage location and extent identification is carried out by applying wavelet theory. Based strain mode which is sensitivity to structure local characteristics change, damage location is identified by modulus maximum of continuous wavelet transform. The relationship between Lipschitz exponent and damage extent is built according to the feature that Lipschitz exponent representing the order of the singularity. Numerical simulation show the method of damage detection based wavelet analysis can exactly detect the location and extent of the damage through modulus maximum and Lipschitz exponent, the information of undamaged structure is not need in this method. The detection results indicate the proposed method is precision and facility which supply theory basis for engineering practices.
