BEARING CAPACITY OF LATTICE COLUMN WITH INITIAL DEFLECTION IN PLANE
Assembled structure of lattice form has a rather large initial geometric deflection that influences its mechanical behaviors. Considering the initial geometric-deflection, the theoretical ultimate load is obtained based on the yielding criterion of the cross-sectional edge stresses in three basic loading cases: a concentrated force, a uniformly distributed force and both the two sorts of force. Such a bearing capacity is lower than the breaking strength ultimate load and the critical load obtained by the linear stability theory and conforms to the reality, so that the conclusions of the present work can be taken as the basic theory of the structural safety designs.
