A WAVELET RIDGE AND SVD-BASED APPROACH FOR INSTANTANEOUS FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION OF STRUCTURE
Viewing structure as a time varying system, the concept of instantaneous frequency was introduced. And a simple method for extracting ridge of wavelet transform is proposed in this paper, then we can identified the instantaneous frequency from ridge. Because the identified instantaneous frequency using directly CWT is sensitive to noise, a method using singular value decomposition (SVD) is adopted to process the identified result. The method can decrease the influence of noise and smooth the obtained instantaneous frequency curse. Finally the effectiveness and accuracy of the addressed method are validated via a numerical simulation of a three degree-of-freedom spring-mass-dashpot system.
