STUDY AND APPLICATION OF FIBER OPTIC GRATING INTELLIGENT MATERIALS
Fiber Optic Grating Sensor (FBG) is an advanced intelligent sensing material developed in recent years and the technology is widely accepted in almost all industries. FBG are being surveyed for their application in market. This research will discuss the characteristics of intelligent materials and the sensing mechanics of fiber optic grating intelligent materials. Fiber optic grating sensors are applied in a test and compared with conventional foil gage, the results indicate that the accuracy, stability and durability of them are satisfactory. It is inferred that the use of fiber optic grating intelligent materials in the civil structures is very promising and is sure to bring further advancements and improvements in the future.
