DESIGN AND RESEARCH STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM FOR AN EXISTING BRIDGE BASED ON OPTICAL FIBER SENSING TECHNOLOGY
Bridges offer many unique opportunities for the use of intelligent optical fiber sensing technology. In this paper, the state-of-the-character of bridge structural health monitoring (SHM) system based on optical fiber sensing technology are reviewed and some disadvantages in present existing long-span bridge SHM system based on optical fiber sensing technology are pointed out. In order to overcome those disadvantages, some fiber bragg grating (FBG) products accomplished by authors and corresponding industrialization enterprise are introduced. Aiming at an existing long-span cable-stayed bridge, the operational condition of the multi-parameter bridge SHM system mainly based on the optical fiber sensing technology is presented. Some initial monitoring data show that the whole performance of the SHM system is stable and testing results are credible.
