EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON THE WEDGE-TYPE ACHOR FOR CFRPTENDON
A wedge anchor for CFRP tendon is developed in post- tensioning applications. The anchorage system is assembled with a steel barrel with a conical hole, two-piece metallic wedges with intended teeth, an aluminum soft-metal sleeve, a sheet plastic between the barrel and the wedges. The test results show the anchorage system can perform well. The maximum ultimate load of the developed wedge anchors for CFRP tendons achieves 185 kN, correspondingly anchorage efficiency is 96.4%. The anchorage performance is affected by many anchorage parameters, such as slope angle of the barrel, presetting load, space and depth and width of the indented teeth, thickness of an aluminum sleeve. Theoretical results versus experimental results show that most of them have good agreement.
