A Project of Value Engineering Proposed by the Function-Improvement-Based Combinatorial Method
The experience limitations and habitual modes of thinking on the traditional ways of proposing projects concerning value engineering result in incomplete projects. This paper, therefore, suggests a new way of proposing a project; the function- improvement-based combinatorial method with independent functions of a product as its prerequisites. With this method, various improvements are made of respective terminal functions of the whole functional system of a product. And these improvements are combined together to produce many new projects, from which the optimum one can be found. This way of project proposing a-voids the defects of the traditional and provides comprehensive analysis of projects of value engineering.
