Grey Analysis of Colombian Migration

Recent results of grey systems science are applied to the investigation of the relative degrees of importance of 22 variables affecting the individual or family decision-making of migration. Firstly, we show how to cluster the pre-determined variables into as few groups as needed. Secondly, we rank the groups in terms of their significance to the decision-making regarding labor migration. And thirdly, we establish an evaluation model to judge if an individual or a family is fit and ready to migrate physically and financially. Other than reconfirming most of the results obtained by other scholars over the years, this paper brings forward a set of brand new insights.
