Planning in the Nile River Basin: A Regional Approach

摘要：

This paper examines a variety of approaches to the issue of planning in the Nile river basin with a special reference to the model of The Permanent Joint Technical Commission of the Nile Waters between Sudan and Egypt (PJTC) and experiences from eleven Sub- Saharan African (SSA) River Basin Organizations. The paper also highlights the complexity of regional planning taking into consideration the River Nile unique situation. Furthermore the study stresses the need for a regional planning approach, and suggests the appropriate tools to achieve it.
