THE NUMERICAL MODELLING OF WAVE RUN-UP USING NON-LINEAR SHALLOW WATER EQUATIONS
Based on the nonlinear shallow water equations, a one-dimensional finite volume model capable of simulating storm waves propagating in the coastal surf zone is presented. The Roe type approximate Riemann solver is used for the numerical flux that captures bore waves in both transcritical and supercritical flows. By finite volume formulation, the method can be implemented on an irregular and regular mesh. The model is verified by run-up of solitary wave.Excellent agreement has been achieved in the verification phase.
