AN ANALYSIS ON THE STATISTICAL CHARACTERISTIC OF SEA WAVES WITH DOUBLE-PEAKED SPECTRUM
Using the advanced random spectrum analysis method, three gale processes at the American National Data Buoy 44008 from January to March of 2003 were studied to analyze the storm wave spectrum by the circulate embedding method of covariance matrix . Taking the measured average spectrum as target spectrum, random wave surface was simulated. The result showed that the estimated spectrum was very close to the measurement and the spectrum peak frequency was almost the same. It is a feasible method to study the wave by simulated wave surface, which can reflect the wave characteristics. Joint pdf of crest height and crest period was calculated by Longuet-Higgins(1983)model. The calculation was very close to the measurement.These results are valuable for the design of the coast ocean engineering.
