SCATTERING OF REGULAR WAVES BY IRREGULAR POROUS SEABED IN THE PRESENCE OF A REFLECTIVE BEACH

Numerical analysis for the scattering of gravity waves by a patch of submerged irregular porous bars is performed by using the linear wave theory. The effects of the beach reflection and the bottom irregularity on the reflection and transmission coefficients are examined.It is shown that a submerged breakwater in the form of a patch of irregular porous bars can effectively reduce the transmission coefficient over a wave frequency range much wider than that in the form of an array of periodic bars.
