HARBOR BASIN SILTATION OF THE DEEPWATER BERTH OF GUANGZHOU HARBOR

Through comparative analysis over the data of the five topographical measures of the Xingang harbor district and the Xinsha harbor district from 2004 to 2005, in connection with the harbor basin dredging conditions of the year 2004, the annual change of the water depth of the Xingang and the Xinsha harbor districts is study in this paper. The characteristics of Xingang harbor district are that there have obvious silting in Winter-Spring, minor change in Summer-Autumn and a silting distribution feature of “high in the south and low in the north. The characteristics of Xinsha harbor district are that there obvious silting in Autumn-Winter, light deposition in Spring-Summer and a deposition distribution of “high in the south, low in the north and large in the middle. In connection with the hydrological observation data and relevant research results of those years, this article also analyzes the factors that cause the scour and silting of the harbor districts to serve as reference for the maintenance of the harbor districts.
