NON DIMENSIONAL RELATIONSHIP FOR INVESTIGATING CUSPS SPACING

This study is carried out to find a relationship of beach cusp spacing using beach and wave condition. Cusp spacing model is based on the wave uprush flow diverging at a cusp.Cusp spacing,λ , expressed by 62 . 0 93 . 0 15 . 0 46 . 0 94 . 4 /=B B T d g H Aλ , where HB is wave height at breaking point, g is gravity cceleration, d is mean diameter of sediment particle, T is wave period and B A is the length of breaking zone. This non dimensional relationship is supported with field data in Sendai Coast, Japan, and also another existing data set of beach cusp formation.
