Characteristic Comparative Studies of Huperzine A-PLGA Microspheres Prepared by Two Different Emulsion Methods
Huperzine A (HupA) microspheres were prepared by using O/W and O/O emulsion-solvent evaporation methods. The physicochemical characteristics of HupA-PLGA microspheres were compared on the partical size and the distribution, the surface property, the encapsulation efficiency and the drug release rate in vivo/in vitro. Te results showed that the method prepared by using O/O emulsion-solvent evaporation technic are more suitable to be developed as a long-acting microsphere injection.
