Development and Application of BRP Technology in Baosteel
Background of developing BRP (Baosteel BOF Refining Process) technology in Baosteel is briefly introduced with test conditions and results of BRP technology. Relations between dephosphorization and basicity of slag, conditions of bottom blowing, temperature at end point are analyzed. Effects of bottom blowing, total iron of slag, silicon content in hot metal on dephosphorization are discussed too. The performance results indicate that the dephosphorization efficiency is over 84% and 64% and the average phosphorus content is below 0.014% and 0.005% in de-P converter and de-C converter respectively. Some steels produced difficultly such as tire-cored steel, X65 pipeline steel with HIC-resistance are produced by BRP technology in Baosteel.
