Investigating Damage Initiation and Evolution in a Filled Elastomer Using. X-ray Radiograph Techniques
This paper summarizes the experimental findings on damage initiation and evolution processes in an highly filled elastomer, containing hard particles embedded in a rubber matrix, based on X-ray radiographic techniques. The specimens were subjected to a constant strain rate loading condition. The recorded x-ray data were processed to create a visual indication of the energy absorbed in the material. The data were analyzed and the results are discussed.
