Finite Element Analysis and Design Optimization of Smoking Desulfuration Absorber Tower for Large Electric Power Plant
Using finite element method, structural analysis and design optimization of smoking desulfuration absorber tower is carried out for Linhe Electric Plant. First, with modal analysis, the dynamic characteristic including natural frequency, period and vibration mode was computed. Then the stress and deformation are evaluated thoroughly over the tower subjected to different load cases. The stress and deformation of tower shell and some details such as spurting beam, defogger bearing beam and exhanst gas outlet and inlet under the worst case are discussed. The result shows that the maximum stress and deformation are far smaller than the allowable value. Finally under condition that the usage of the absorber tower is safe, feasible optimization program is presented. The results and procedure can provide reference for similar projects.
