Testing Hysteretic Behavior and Dissipation Energy of Steel Fiber Concrete Shear Wall

Shear wall structure system is used more and more in high buildings. Steel fiber concrete shear wails are researched in this article, which can overcome the disadvantages of common concrete shear wall. Through horizontal cyclic reverse loading tests of 6 mid-rise shear walls (shear span ratio is 2.0) with and without steel fibers, the influence of steel fibers on the hysteretic behavior and ability of dissipation energy of shear walls are studied. Test results indicate that the hysteretic behavior and ability of dissipation of energy of shear walls are improved greatly with the increase of the volume fraction of steel fibers. The earthquake-resistance properties of steel fiber concrete shear walls are better than normal concrete shear walls.
