Deflection Monitoring of Box Girders of Hangzhou Bay Bridge
Hangzhou Bay Bridge is the longest cross sea bridge in the world. Ⅷ contract contains 540 pieces of 70m long prefabricated box girder, each of the box girders weights 2180 tons. In order to study how the box girders deform, Ⅷ contractor carried on a deformation monitoring program from December, 2005 to March, 2006. Introduce the necessity, methods, accuracy, effective measures and results of the monitoring programe. Analyze the reasons of the deflection deformation of the box girders. It is concluded that the top especially the middle part of the box girder deflects upwards during the construction stage, and the box girders length, sunlight, temperature, the tide, the creep of the concrete are the key factors result in the deflection.
