Structural Health Monitoring for Subway Station Structure
A structure health monitoring (SHM) system set up in a Beijing subway station is presented. Based on the static analysis and Effective Independence (EfI) method, sensors are installed in optional locations in the station strutting. Through the SHM system, a series measurements for temperature and strains of the station structure were carried out during the station construction by using fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors and vibrating wire (VW) sensors, the data measured by the two types of sensors agree very well with each other. The change of structure strains at some special eases in the course of construction can be captured by the SHM system. In addition, an application of GIS technology in the SHM system for the subway station structure also introduced.
