Parameter Identification of Structures from Static Strain Measurements
This paper presents a technique to identify structural parameters by using static strain measurement based on Leverenge-Marquardt with linear search strategy method. By using a subset of applied static loads and a subset of measured strains, the element stiffness parameters of a finite element model of the structure are identified. This technique preserves the structural connectivity and determines the changes of the cross-sectional properties of every element so that it can be used for damage assessment. Numerical examples are presented to study the application of the method.
