Study on Damage Identification using Distributed Long-gage Bragg Fiber Optic .Sensing System

Health monitoring of the modem large-scale structure has become more and more mature, however, the traditional sensor is still insufficient enough to meet the stability and reliability requirement, as well as durability. Since demands for structural health monitoring keep advancing, this paper introduced the testing principle and advantages of long-gage distributed fiber bragg sensor technology, and put forward the current problems and corresponding solutions. The paper also introduced the frequency based, mode based, flexibility based, rigidity based, the energy method, the sub-structure method and other identification technology. Theoretical formula of each kind of dynamic- parameter-based method are available, and the advantages and disadvantages as well.
