Frequency Techniques Based Cable Tension Estimation of Beam String Structures
Based on the mechanical properties of Beam String Structures (BSS) , one simple model for the vibration analysis of BSS is proposed first and then recurrent relationships among the cable tension and the natural frequencies are derived. Nonlinear numerical analysis is conducted to study how flexural rigidity and boundary conditions affect the vibration of the cable and some important conclusions are obtained. The practical formulas are derived to identify the cable tension with different boundary conditions. The work in this paper is meaningful because it will provide helpful references for cable tension evaluation considering the influence of the connected members.
