Study on Loading Test of the Sub-arch Bridge of Double-Decker CFST Arch Bridge
The forth Qiantang River Bridge is a structurally complex double-decker CFST tie arch Bridge, with two- way six lanes in the upper deck and planning light rail train in the middle of lower deck, bus-exclusive lane and sightseeing lanes for pedestrians on both sides of the lower deck. To test the static and dynamic performance of the structure and identify the bearing capacity, we proceed tests on dead load and live load of the main arch bridge, the secondary arch bridge and the continuous box-girder bridge approach. This paper introduces the tests on the main arch bridge of the 4th Qiantang river bridge with 85m span, including the testing content, the loading mode, the testing means and the testing results. The static performance mainly tests the deformation and internal force of bridge at the application of the dead load, then compare the test value with design value. The dynamic test includes pulsating test, driving test with and without obstacle, etc. All the testing results indicate that the bridge can satisfy the design and criterion with normal load. Advice on how to operate bridge is brought forward accordingly. We believe this conclusion will benefit the design and construction of similar bridge.
