New Rating Equations for Girders and Towers of Steel Cable-Stayed Bridges
New load rating equations for girders and towers of steel cable-stayed bridges is proposed based on the interaction equations for beam-column members. The live load envelopes and critical live load cases are determined by moving load analyses and detailed procedures for applying the proposed equations are presented. The Dolsan Bridge is used to verify the validity of the proposed equations. The conventional rating equation overestimates the rating factors of girders and towers of the Dolsan Bridge, whereas the proposed equations properly reflect the axial- flexural interaction behavior of girders and towers of the bridge.
