Resistance Assessment of Existing Structures by Random Proof Loads
The resistance evaluation is the important study content and the base of reliability assessment for existing structures or components. It is an attention problem widely to calculate time-dependent reliability of existing structures. Generally, the time-dependent characteristic of structural resistance is an irreversible drop process with the maintenance of exception. The endured loads in the service history are actual occurrence loads on structures, and the probability distribution of structural resistance is a truncated distribution actually when the loads influence on structural resistance is considered. Based on the resistance characteristic of existing structures and the probability theory, the influences of one random proof load and two random proof loads on element resistance of existing structures are analyzed respectively. The relevant calculation formulas for posterior resistances are put forward considering the random proof loads. The analysis method for posterior resistances of existing structures can be used to evaluate structural resistance which has borne proof loads in service history.
