Relationship between the Two Current Codes on the Assessment of the Existing Bridge
The comparison between the two current codes for maintenance of bridge, the Code for Maintenance of Highway Bridge and Culvers and the Technical Code of Maintenance for City Bridge, was made both in the assessment methods and range of usage. The virtual layers second and fourth were set in the Code for Maintenance of Highway Bridge corresponding to the layers in Technical Code of Maintenance for City Bridge according to the stratified weighted method adopted by the latter. Then the difference in weight points assignment was analyzed, the relation formula on The Final Resultant Assessment Grade Index and The Bridge Condition Index was deduced. The concept of interchangeability of partial weight between different codes was proposed, that is useful for user in practice to refer to the two codes and take advantage of each other. Several examples were given to show the advantages of the relation formula and the new concept.
