Ecological Evaluation of Road Green Space of Taian City Based on RS and GIS
Road green space system is important corridor landscape of the urban. Its ecology quality has direct connection with urban ecological and social safety and is one of important respect of urban green system evaluation. Sound evaluation indexes are beneficial to ensure its rational planning and management. But now most evaluation methods are qualitative and there no standard quantitative indexes. The data used in the study was SPOT5 image of Taian city. The methods were RS computer automatic classification and GIS spatial analysis. Through these methods, two maps, urban road system map and urban road green space coverage map were obtained. Based on two maps, two indexes, percentage of road greenery coverage and road green space connectivity were calculated and ecology quality of urban road green space system of test region was evaluated. Conclusions were drawn that: (1) percentage of road greenery coverage is about 35.5%, and the road greenery coverage area is OK for entire urban; (2) most road green space conectivity is less than 0.4, so most road green space landscape construct is not well and the ecology benefit is low. In order to exert the effect of the road green space to urban ecology system, measures should be taken to improve the vegetation construction and growing condition of the road green space.
