Research on partial safety factor of structural integrity assessment
Partial safety factors (PSFs) are the factors for dealing with the uncertainty of parameters in assessment of structural integrity, which depend on the target reliability and the COVs of random variables. In this paper, a set of partial safety factors was derived by FOSM method and the overall safety factors were compared with that of BS7910. It is concluded that the PSFs from FOSM method is less than that of BS7910.
